Official social-network APIs have a fundamental gap: they return text and metrics but can’t see visuals. A profile grid, a banner with an offer, a story with a promo code, a “Book a demo” button in the header — none of that exists to an API. Yet to a buyer, that’s exactly what exists.

What Vision LLM sees that APIs don’t

A multimodal model takes a profile screenshot and returns a structured breakdown:

  • Niche and sub-niche with a confidence score (B2B SaaS → HR-tech, 0.94)
  • Brand visual premium-ness: amateur shots vs. production studio
  • Offers and CTAs on banners and pinned posts (OCR + composition understanding)
  • Activity signals: freshness of the last post, live stories
  • Header contacts: links, calendars, messengers — even written as an image

This feeds into ICP scoring before the first touch. In our tests Vision rejection removes up to 40% of a list: farm accounts and dead brands are visible in the grid in seconds — work that takes an analyst minutes.

Computer Use: where the API ends

The second half of the loop is action. Official APIs don’t allow watching stories, scrolling feeds or filling web forms. A human-like Playwright agent closes the gap:

session.start(container, residential_proxy)
  → bezier_cursor.move(profile_card)
  → read_delay(2.4s)
  → scroll(natural_velocity)
  → like(post_3, relevance=0.87)
  → screenshot_log.save(every_step)

The operative word is human-like: the cursor moves along Bezier curves, pauses are distributed like real reading, and daily ceilings match live-user behavior. Automation detectors look for robotic patterns — even intervals, instant clicks, missing scroll. There are none here.

Sandbox and evidence log

Every session runs in an isolated container: a dedicated browser fingerprint, residential proxy, zero cross-contamination between client accounts. Every step is logged with a screenshot — if a platform challenges an action, you have a complete record of what actually happened.

Boundaries: where the red line is

  • Vision Automation complements the official API, not replaces it — posting and DMs stay on the API
  • Live-user daily limits: ≤ 80 likes, ≤ 40 story views per session
  • Auto-stop on CAPTCHA and phone-verify with escalation to a human
  • A policy gate before start: tasks violating platform ToS are rejected by the engine

Where this is heading

The next year will erase the “API vs interface” boundary: agents will freely combine both loops — reading visuals through Vision, acting through APIs where they exist and through Computer Use where they don’t. The winners won’t be those with the most automation, but those whose automation is indistinguishable from an attentive human.

The best agent is one whose actions are indistinguishable from your most attentive SDR.
